This partnership brings together GAF’s commitment to enhancing the health and economic well-being of market women in Nigeria and WellaHealth’s dedication to providing affordable healthcare services and health insurance to underserved populations.
Under the terms of the MoU, GAF and WellaHealth will work together to:
- Provide low-cost health insurance coverage to market women
- Conduct health workshops and free health screenings.
- Develop co-branded Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials, this is to effectively reach and educate market women in Nigeria on health and economic empowerment, leveraging the strengths of both organizations to drive positive change.
The partnership commenced on September 1, 2024, and will run for 12 months, with the option to extend or terminate earlier by either party.
Responding to the partnership, Ms. Felicitas Nwadiolu, Programme Coordinator at GAF, commended the synergies between GAF’s market-focused initiatives and WellaHealth’s healthcare expertise: “We are excited to partner with WellaHealth to make a meaningful impact on the health and economic stability of market women in Edo State.”
Mr. Olanrewaju Akintobi, Operations Lead at WellaHealth, emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving sustainable development goals: “Our partnership with GAF represents a significant step forward in our shared vision of leveraging healthcare and insurance services to empower market women and their families.”
